I’m not ignoring you.
Please, believe me.
My schedule just had a funny way of smacking me straight across the face this week.
Today’s sunrise yoga is also adding some weight to my eyelids…
First practice in months and it certainly cleared out a few cobwebs (and stress and worry and angst…).
The post-work cocktails, with the most beautiful Angie tonight…and no she isn’t the only Angie I know, are taking their own toll as well.
I wish the other three bridesmaids were here, but it was just me and the woman with the shockingly good hair top-left at the bar this eve.
So as I’m brewing a pot of chamomile and tucking myself in (where is your roommate when you need her!?) I thought I’d share some food for thought…
Esquire‘s March 1965 article, The Last American Hero is Junior Johnson. Yes! Makes for outrageously good reading. He’s legendary now, but when Tom Wolfe wrote this article, he was anything but.

Here’s what Esquire says about it, “Tom Wolfe broke out onto the national literary scene at age thirty-four with this breathless piece — an early step in the so-called New Journalism, a first reference for the term “good ol’ boy,” a deep breath into the future of the New South.”
And lighter (but no less important)…The Fitnessista shares her tricks for staying healthy on-the-go. It’s a topic we’ve all read, of course, but new tips and tricks never hurt
.
I’ve paid particular attention to this subject this week. One, because I need energy for these 15 and 16 hour days and two, because fitting in proper workouts has been less than successful. And here’s what I know, if I can’t exercise, I need to focus on the other things that make me feel good! I.e. healthy food.
Sweet dreams all! Leave some good pre-bedtime reading links we can all lull ourselves to sleep with!
